River Rats Down Airmen, 6-3

The Columbia River Rats trumped the Alameda Airmen, 6-3, at Columbia Stadium. Columbia second baseman Kenny Peterson was terrific. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs. The winning pitcher was Haden Manning. He's now 8-3. He went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the River Rats. Columbia is now 37-25.
With Columbia leading 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Peterson hit a run-scoring single off Alameda hurler Chris Weber. It was the 62nd hit of the season for Peterson and put his team ahead, 5-3.
"This is a very good team," said Peterson. "We have the chance to do something special."
