The Expos faced a stiff challenge from Caldwell pitcher Carlos Pereira, but persevered to claim a win at Pipers Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Pereira went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Niagara Falls is now 24-39, Caldwell 29-34.
John Witt's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Niagara Falls. Coming to bat with no one out, a runner on 1st and Niagara Falls trailing 1-0, the third baseman hit a run-scoring double.
"We were in it," said Caldwell manager Jorge Agramunt. "We just didn't score enough runs."
