Idaho Falls Hands Niagara Falls 5-3 Defeat
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars picked up a win at Waterfall Park, topping the Niagara Falls Expos, 5-3. On the mound for Idaho Falls was right-hander Earnest McClure. He played a principal role in the triumph. McClure, now 4-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. Mario Happ was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 12 save opportunities.
Idaho Falls used a well-timed hit by Dani Soto to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Chukars ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"This was a good win," said Soto.
Idaho Falls is now 41-24, 3 games up in the Menard's A.
