River Rats Win Squeaker, 2-1, Over Vibes
|
The Columbia River Rats had to overcome a good performance from Rocky Mountain pitcher Bill Holman to claim a 2-1 win at Bellevue Field. Holman went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The second-place River Rats are 41-27.
Columbia used the timely hitting of Jeffrey Hull to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the River Rats on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said River Rats manager Bayram Tanaoglu.
