Generals Lick Bulls, 3-1
|
The Washington Generals got a marvelous performance from pitcher Francisco Torres. The right-hander kept the Belleville offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-1 Washington victory at Washington Park. Torres, the winner, moves to 1-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 1 walk. The Generals saw their win-loss record go to 34-35. At the same time, the Bulls fell to 40-29.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Generals grabbed the lead when Kazuki Kodama rapped a two-out home run. Washington was trailing 1-0, when Kodama hit a 3-run home run off Ken Wilson to put his team in front, 3-1.
"Winning never gets dull," said Kodama.
