Chiefs Pull Out Late-Game Win, 2-1
|
Caldwell Chiefs starter Luis Rea hurled his team past the Columbia River Rats, 2-1. The win moves Caldwell to a record of 2-0.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Caldwell catcher Ángel Pérez, facing Ramón Acosta, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Chiefs the 2-1 win.
"Luis throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Caldwell manager Jorge Agramunt.
