The Holy City Herons got a magnificent performance from pitcher Fred Ducklow, who muffled the Grim offense en route to a tight, 3-0 Herons win at Mango Yard. Harlan MacKnight earned the save for Holy City, his 1st of the year. Grim drops to 1-1.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Koukalaka Ala didn't flinch. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Grim trailing 2-0, Ala retired Neil Lang to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Ala, with a wink.
