Win Goes to Manatees in Tight Contest
|
Matlacha first baseman Randy Sullivan helped his team beat the Belleville Bulls, 5-3. Sullivan went 3 for 4 for the Manatees. The win went to Roberto Romero in relief, making him now 4-0. Ken Wilson took the loss for Belleville. Jeffrey White recorded the save for Matlacha, his 13th of the season.
José Flores, who is rated as the 20th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Matlacha cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 1-5.
Matlacha manager Howard Lee commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
The victory puts Matlacha at 34-51.
