Bulls Handle Laredo, Snag 4-1 Win

The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Belleville Field.
The Bulls grabbed a win, 4-1, at Belleville Field, overcoming a fine effort from Laredo pitcher Carlos Vázquez. Vázquez went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Belleville reliever Edward Wolthaus, now 8-0. The loser was Carlos Vázquez. Luis Martínez earned the save for Belleville, his 19th of the year.
Thomas Erak, who is tied for 10th in the 3A in stolen bases with 6, took Laredo hurler Carlos Vázquez deep in the bottom of the sixth. His solo home run put the Bulls on top, 2-1. In all, Erak had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Bulls manager Rafael Avelar.
The Bulls now own a record of 50-46.
