The Yucca Valley Yellows topped the Grim Reapers, 5-1, in USSL Single A action at The Coffin. The standout performance belonged to Yucca Valley pitcher and Sunrise, Florida, native Ed Hull. The triumph puts Yucca Valley at 13-12 for the season.
Yucca Valley used a clutch at-bat from Martin Daniels to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Yellows ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Hull said his team "played with focus."
