Reapers Lose 4-2 Decision to Walla Walla
|
Walla Walla got a strong outing from Lu-po-teh Fong as the Walleye defeated the Grim Reapers, 4-2, at Walleye Tank. Fong, now 4-1, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. At 21-8, the Walleye find themselves in first place in the Silver A.
The Walleye got a big at-bat from shortstop Chae-ho Chong. For the game, Chong went 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Walla Walla a 4-2 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Walla Walla skipper Félix Cruz.
