Liberty U-24 Win Streak Reaches 6
|
The Philadelphia Liberty U-24 knocked off the Yucca Valley Yellows, 5-4, at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. Edward Hernández was a big reason Philadelphia won. The third baseman was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Bryan Miller picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-2. He struck out 5 in 6.1 innings. Ismael Díaz got credit for the save for Philadelphia. It was his 9th of the year.
Philadelphia grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Hernández hit a grand slam home run off Ed Hull. His 4th home run of the season put the Liberty U-24 out in front, 5-2.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Philadelphia manager Rio Bavin.
Philadelphia has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
