Herons Victors, 3-1, at Grand Forks
|
The Holy City Herons got a magnificent performance from pitcher Sam van de Weideven, who muffled the Grand Forks offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Herons win at The Cocoon. Marcos Cardova locked down his 4th save. The Herons are now 26-10.
Holy City used a clutch hit from Júlio Villalobos to get the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Herons ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Sam has got a slow heartbeat," said Holy City manager Ralph Horn. "He doesn't panic or anything."
