The home team gave the crowd at Mango Yard something to cheer about.

The Holy City Herons eked out a 3-2 win versus the Monroeville Yinzers at Mango Yard. Nobody did more than pitcher Etienne de Ruijter. He was terrific. Holy City reliever Fred Ducklow picked up the win to move to 1-0. Milo Church suffered the loss.

Pedro Rey was the walk-off hero for Holy City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Herons pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Rey said his team "played with focus."

Monroeville, at 12-28, has lost 4 straight.
