Yucca Valley got a first-rate effort from pitcher Mark Chandler, who frustrated Walla Walla hitters en route to a 3-1 Yellows triumph at Walleye Tank. Jesús Hernández earned the save for Yucca Valley, his 3rd. Yucca Valley sits in 5th place in the Silver A at 20-21.
Early in the game, left fielder Juan Guzmán had a 2-run home run for Yucca Valley. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Yellows on top, 2-0.
"Mark is a gamer," said Yucca Valley manager Ernest Orr.
