The Yucca Valley Yellows could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Tony Icaza into a win. Instead, the Walla Walla Walleye prevailed, 2-1, in 11 innings. Icaza threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. Walla Walla reliever Taki Ohayashi picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Jesús Hernández was saddled with the loss. The loss makes Yucca Valley 20-22.
Walla Walla got a knockout punch from Tom Milsom. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Both teams played hard," said Walla Walla manager Félix Cruz.
