Duarte, Reapers Too Much for Hobeaus
|
The Grim Reapers topped the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 7-1, at The Coffin. Grim right fielder Roberto Duarte was a spark plug for the offense. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The defeat makes Smoky Mountain 24-21.
Grim grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Duarte hit a 3-run home run off Gijsbert Arents. His 4th home run of the season put the Reapers out in front, 4-1.
"I thought we competed really well," said Reapers manager Arnold Magowan. "I thought the energy was really good."
