Gallos Best Walleye in Pitching Duel
|
The Delmarva Gallos racked up a win at The Cage, bumping off the Walla Walla Walleye, 2-1. Jody Brown, who started for Delmarva, pitched effectively for his team. Brown picked up the win for Delmarva, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-4. The win puts Delmarva at 27-19 this season.
Sam Allen had a big run-scoring double for the Gallos in the bottom of the first inning. With Delmarva leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Max Payne, the 12th overall pick in the 2061 draft, and swatted a double to right. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gallos ahead, 2-0.
"Runs were at a premium," said Delmarva manager Félix Martínez.
