The Levittown Blue Dragons were defeated, 3-2, by the Philadelphia Liberty U-24 at The Cave at Levittown, even though Ed Lemay pitched well for Levittown. Víctor Rodríguez, the winning pitcher, is now 4-2. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 2. Ismael Díaz collected save number 15.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Vincent Bordes to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Liberty U-24 ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Bordes, "one at-bat at a time."
The second-place Liberty U-24 have won 6 straight games.
