Reapers Trip Herons, 2-1, in Extra Innings

The Grim Reapers faced a tenacious opponent in Holy City pitcher Bartolo Martínez, but still scratched out a win at Mango Yard by a final score of 2-1 in 10 innings. Martínez went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Grim reliever Jeff MacFadden picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Marcos Cardova absorbed the loss. Rafael Balita recorded the save for Grim, his 14th of the season.
Neil Rogers, who is tied for 8th in the SA in stolen bases with 4, had a direct impact on the outcome. Rogers contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Grim up, 2-1.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Holy City manager Ralph Horn. "We just didn't cash in."
With this game in the books, Grim is 27-22, Holy City 34-15.
