Yinzers Absorb 5-1 Home Loss

Walla Walla and Monroeville got after it at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium.
Walla Walla pitcher Lu-po-teh Fong did his part in helping his team beat the Monroeville Yinzers, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. With the win, the Walleye sit at 36-19.
Walla Walla used the timely hitting of Henry Hayes to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Walleye on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Lu-po-teh had himself a pretty good evening," said Walla Walla manager Félix Cruz.
