Yinzers Use Late Score to Top Blue Dragons, 2-1

The Monroeville Yinzers had to overcome a fine effort from Levittown pitcher Mario Salas to win, 2-1, at The Cave at Levittown. Salas went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Monroeville reliever Burton Goodman was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Orlando Sánchez. Milo Church closed out the game, earning his 6th save.
Monroeville used the timely hitting of Reed Francis to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yinzers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It feels good to get this one," Francis told the Monroeville Gazette.
The Yinzers now have a record of 20-39.
