Herons Walk It Off for 28th Win of Season
|
The Holy City Herons did just enough to secure a victory over the Alaskan Bush Pilots, 5-4, in 13 innings at Mango Yard. Nobody did more than pitcher Jimmy Cooper. Holy City is now 28-34, while Alaskan is 32-30.
Dewitt Kennedy played the role of hero for Holy City. In the bottom of the 13th, he launched a 2-run home run off Bryan Massey to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Cooper told the Holy City Herald.
