In a low-scoring game between the Walla Walla Walleye and the Grim Reapers, pitcher Tony Smith was masterful on the mound. The Walla Walla right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-0 win. The winner was Smith. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Cecil Cornett. Earning his 12th save for Walla Walla was António Díaz.

Pancho Traveso had a big hit for Walla Walla in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Walla Walla leading 1-0, Traveso hit a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Walleye up, 2-0.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Walla Walla skipper Félix Cruz. "I can't complain."

With the win over Grim, the Walleye improved to 42-21.
