Caterpillars Turn Back Walleye, 4-3

The Grand Forks Caterpillars defeated the Walla Walla Walleye, 4-3, in USSL Single A action at The Cocoon. Grand Forks pitcher Auno Toivola had a standout performance. At 32-34, the Caterpillars are currently 6th in the Silver A.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Shane Hatcher came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Walla Walla pitcher António Díaz, he hit a 2-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Grand Forks on top, 4-3.
Hatcher called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
