River Rats Get Thrilling 3-2 Win
Smoky Mountain got a big-time effort from pitcher Héctor Rodríguez, but it wasn't enough to keep the Columbia River Rats from winning the game, 3-2. Rodríguez threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Jack Simmons, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Columbia currently is in 5th place in the Silver A at 47-39.

The River Rats got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Ricardo Martínez. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the River Rats.

"Exciting game to play in," said Martínez. "Getting the win makes it even better."
