Walleye Suffer One-Run Loss at Yucca Valley
The Yucca Valley Yellows weathered an outstanding game by Walla Walla catcher Dave Beasley to topple the Walleye, 6-5. Beasley went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Chris von Kotze, who is tied for 7th in the SA in strikeouts with 108, was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, with 5 walks and 8 strikeouts. The Yellows saw their win-loss record go to 37-53. At the same time, the Walleye fell to 52-38.

In the bottom of the first inning, right fielder Melchor Leminoke had a 2-run double for Yucca Valley. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Yellows on top, 2-0.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Walla Walla manager Félix Cruz. "But we decided not to take it."
