The Lake Erie Arryns bested the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 7-4, at Arryns Ballpark. Shinji Kokawa was one of the standouts. He was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Lake Erie is now 46-44.
The Arryns got an important contribution from left fielder José Muñóz, who in the bottom of the second hit a cutter to right-center for a 2-run double. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Arryns ahead, 4-1.
"I like to lead by example," said Kokawa. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
