Jesús López was outstanding against Chicago. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the PA in quality starts with 4, had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Commodores 6-3 win. After today's action, Put-In-Bay sits at 9-18; Chicago slips to 16-11.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Marty Barber in the bottom of the ninth. That's when he hit a 3-run home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Urpo Mäkitie to win it for Put-In-Bay and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"When Jesús is on, he can really move the ball around," said Put-In-Bay manager José Trejo.
