Arryns Handle Jets, Grab 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Lake Erie Arryns and the Kennesaw Jets, pitcher Juan Ríos was the difference between victory and defeat. The Lake Erie right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Arryns win. Tom McClendon finished to wrap up his 9th save. With the victory, the Arryns record stands at 20-12.
Bill Haggans hit a solo home run off Glenn Murphy in the top of the ninth, which put the Arryns ahead, 3-2. In addition to the homer, Haggans had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"I'm happy we won," said Ríos. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
