Starting pitcher Luke Kipling was a major factor in the 4-1 Huntington Hermit Crabs triumph over the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus. Joe García got credit for the save for Huntington. It was his 5th of the year. With the win, the Hermit Crabs improved to 17-16.

Ekata Sasthi helped the cause in the bottom of the eighth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. His at-bat contributed to the Huntington win.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Smoky Mountain skipper Belchior Tinoco, "and it cost us."
