The South Beach Blaze picked up a win at Ramblers Ballpark, taking down the Chicago Tula, 4-3, in 11 innings. On the mound for South Beach was left-hander Dani Rodríguez. He played a central role in the triumph. South Beach reliever Rick Ernst was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Bob Simpson. With the win, South Beach pushed its record to 22-13.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 22-year old left fielder Salvador Silva. Silva had a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Blaze ahead, 4-3. For the game, Silva had 1 double and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.
