The Eugene Vandals banked on Sidney van Campen and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Put-In-Bay hitters in check. The final score was 3-1, Vandals. van Campen, now 6-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The win elevated the Vandals to 22-17.
Bobby Rush, who is tied for 6th in the PA in bases on balls with 18, came through for Eugene with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. The left fielder was a perfect 3 for 3 in the game, including 1 home run and 2 singles. He scored 1 run and collected 1 RBI.
