Crawdads Get One-Run Win at Put-In-Bay
|
Pepe Valentín pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Put-In-Bay Commodores, despite Valentín's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Cut Off Crawdads at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Carl Roy recorded the save for Cut Off, his 8th of the season. The 8th-place Commodores have lost 4 consecutive games.
Cut Off relied on the hitting of José Marrero to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Crawdads on top, 3-0. For the game, Marrero had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Marrero, "one at-bat at a time."
