Yinzers Rack Up 8-5 Win Versus Huntington
|
The Monroeville Yinzers beat the Huntington Hermit Crabs by a score of 8-5. Monroeville first baseman Pete Zahut deserved the lion's share of the credit. Zahut was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Yinzers. Matt Webster, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. José Benítez recorded the save for Monroeville, his 1st of the season.
Monroeville grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Zahut hit a 2-run home run off Lou Anderson. His 3rd home run of the season put the Yinzers out in front, 6-5.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Zahut.
Monroeville bumps their record to 26-21 with the win.
