Jets Rally to Win
|
The Kennesaw Jets faced a tough opponent in Cut Off pitcher José Heredia, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Crawdads Field by a final score of 4-2. Heredia went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Kennesaw pitcher Gerardo Chávez got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Masaki Watanabe got the loss. After today's action, Kennesaw sits at 17-31; Cut Off slips to 23-25.
Kennesaw used the timely hitting of Rafael Valentín to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Jets on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Valentín called the win "an overall solid one."
