The Huntington Hermit Crabs topped the Eugene Vandals, 5-3, in USPL Single A action at The Shell. The game was highlighted by the performance of Huntington pitcher Ángel Núñez. Núñez got the win, improving to 4-2. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Huntington now has a record of 27-22 with the win.

Martín Vargas had a big 2-run triple for the Hermit Crabs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Huntington leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a splitter from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Raúl González and swatted a triple to left. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hermit Crabs ahead, 5-1.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Vargas. "And not try to do too much."
