The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus beat the Lake Erie Arryns, 4-1, at Smokies Stadium. Smoky Mountain third baseman Jian-guo Cuan had an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Wanko Wasko. He tossed 93 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. Albert Longoria finished to wrap up his 15th save.

With Smoky Mountain leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Cuan came up to bat against Lake Erie pitcher Juan Ríos. Cuan hit a cutter to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season put the Hobeaus on top, 4-1.
