South Beach center fielder Rudolf van Kastel helped his team beat the Kennesaw Jets, 5-2. van Kastel, who is tied for 9th in the PA in doubles with 10, went 3 for 5 for the Blaze. Gabriel Diharce, the winner, improved to 4-2. He held the Jets to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Chad Morris closed it out for South Beach, earning his 16th save.
South Beach used the timely hitting of Luis Villarreal to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blaze on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I still think this team can play even better," Villarreal told the South Beach Daily.
With the win over Kennesaw, the Blaze improved to 34-22.
