Crawdads Deal Hobeaus 5-1 Defeat
|
The Cut Off Crawdads topped the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 5-1, with right fielder Manuel Noguerola playing a big role. Noguerola was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Crawdads in the win. Albert Casillas earned the win. Anthony Wright, who is tied for 5th in the PA in wins with 6, took the loss for Smoky Mountain. Picking up the save was Carl Roy, his 10th.
Cut Off took a 5-1 lead on Noguerola's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Jaime Cruz in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Cut Off to the win.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Noguerola told the Cut Off Gazette.
The 6th-place Crawdads improved to 28-29.
