The Eugene Vandals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Brian Myers, who muffled the Put-In-Bay offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Vandals win at The Riot Zone. The victory gives Eugene a record of 33-27.

Eugene left fielder Bobby Rush landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. It was his 12th home run of the season. With it, the Vandals took a 2-0 lead.

"Brian is good at sticking to his strengths," said Eugene manager Milton Mathews.
