Smoky Mountain Hobeaus right-hander Anthony Wright pitched a good game against the South Beach Blaze at Smokies Stadium, leading his team to victory, 2-1. Wright, the winner, moves to 7-4. He threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 4 walks. Smoky Mountain's record now stands at 26-36, placing them 8th in the Premier A.

Iván Bautista came through for Smoky Mountain when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a two-strike cutter to center field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.
