Jets Lose, 6-5, in 11

Fans who congregated at Jets Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.
Behind a fine performance from Dennis Gillespie, the Put-In-Bay Commodores knocked off the Kennesaw Jets in 11 innings, 6-5. Gillespie was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Commodores. With the win, the Commodores are 21-45.
Emmanuele Mazzon drove in one run for Put-In-Bay. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the 11th inning, Mazzon had a clutch at-bat. Facing Kennesaw hurler Ron Lee, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Commodores a 6-5 lead.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Gillespie, "one at-bat at a time."
