Late Offense Lifts South Beach to 7-5 Victory
Led by Curtis Thomas, the South Beach Blaze defeated the Newmarket Rogues, 7-5. Thomas, a native of Mt. Carmel, Tennessee, went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Blaze. South Beach reliever Gabriel Diharce picked up the win, raising his record to 5-2. Neil Snow was tagged with the loss. Chad Morris finished to wrap up his 18th save.

Milton Fletcher came through with a big-time hit for South Beach. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Thomas, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

At 39-27, the Blaze are currently second in the Premier A.
