Commodores Absorb 6-2 Home Loss
|
Thanks in large part to shortstop Phil Jackson, the Lake Erie Arryns beat the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 6-2. Jackson was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Vern Huffman got credit for the save for Lake Erie. It was his 6th of the year. The Arryns are now 41-30, while the Commodores fall to 31-40.
Jackson contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Lake Erie in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Jackson took a fastball from Jesús López and stroked the home run to left. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Arryns to leap in front, 3-1.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Lake Erie manager Louis Espinosa.
