Crawdads Edge Newmarket in Pitching Duel
|
The Cut Off Crawdads eked out a 1-0 win versus the Newmarket Rogues at Rogues Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Augusto Gómez. He was terrific. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Bonifacio Juárez. Cut Off raised its record to 50-31 with the win.
César Darras had a chance to be a hero in the bottom of the ninth inning. With Newmarket trailing 1-0, Newmarket had the bases empty. But Darras struck out.
