Walk-Off Seals 50th Victory for Liberty U-24
The Put-In-Bay Commodores could not turn a fine performance from first baseman Dennis Gillespie into a win. Instead, the Philadelphia Liberty U-24 prevailed, 9-8, in 11 innings. Gillespie went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. With this game in the books, Philadelphia is 50-31, Put-In-Bay 25-56.

Batting in the bottom of the 11th, 23-year old center fielder Shannon Fowler had a real shot to win the game. Put-In-Bay pitcher Bhu Aguillo was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Fowler hit a run-scoring single. The Liberty U-24 had a walk-off triumph.

"This place was rocking at the end," Fowler said.
