The inspired effort of Huntington center fielder Stan Peters was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-5, to the Monroeville Yinzers. Peters went 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Monroeville is now 47-41, Huntington 46-42.
Alfonso Pagán cracked a home run off Luis Mexa in the bottom of the eighth. His grand slam blast put the Yinzers on top, 8-5. In all, Pagán had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Pagán said.
