The Bompton Baby Lakers and Hicksville Hounds played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

The Hicksville Hounds wasted an inspired, 5.1-inning effort from starter Rubén Rodríguez, falling, 2-1, to the Bompton Baby Lakers at Field of the Browns. Kurt Morse was credited with the save for Bompton, his 4th of the season.

Had Orlando Arminderiz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Arminderiz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Baby Lakers.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Arminderiz.

The setback makes Hicksville 13-9.
