Hounds Deal Baby Lakers 9-3 Defeat
The Hicksville Hounds topped the Bompton Baby Lakers, 9-3, in USSL Low A action at Field of the Browns. The standout performance belonged to Hicksville pitcher and Las Matas de Santa Cruz, Dominican Republic, native Ernesto Arroyo. Arroyo, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The Hounds now own a record of 15-9.

Hicksville used a clutch at-bat from Edmond Gray to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hounds ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Hicksville skipper Art Manning.
